Expedition-2

The North Pole-1 was the first Soviet manned drifting station used for scientific research in the polar region. Established on June 6, 1937, 20 km from the North Pole, it operated for 9 months before being rescued by Soviet icebreakers on February 19, 1938, 75 years ago.
