The room your watch is posted from

Behind WatchExclusive is a real boutique in the Old Town of Bratislava, Slovakia. Every watch we sell passes through this room – unpacked, checked, set and packed by the same people who answer your e-mails. Almost no British customer ever sees it, which is precisely why we show it to you.

Why this page exists

An address, not just a domain name

Ordering a watch from another country asks for trust, and since Brexit it asks for a little more of it. So here is the room: a spacious showroom at Karpatská 18, with a table where watches are laid out one at a time. We have been selling watches since 2007, and this is the trading address of a Slovak company you can look up in the public register.

Your order is not picked off an anonymous warehouse shelf. It is unpacked here, checked against the papers, the time and date are set, the bracelet is adjusted, and it is packed for the courier – by the same small team that replies to your messages.

What this means for your order

Four things a real address changes

01

A company you can check

I&M Montres s. r. o. is a registered Slovak company inside the EU, with a VAT number, a registered office and a boutique you can find on a map – not a shopfront that vanishes at the end of the season.

02

Every watch is checked by hand

Before it leaves this room, each watch is unpacked, compared against its warranty card and papers, and set. What travels to you is what you ordered.

03

The same people, years later

A bracelet to resize, a warranty question, a service claim in year three – you reach the team that sold you the watch, at the same address and the same telephone number.

04

Packed for the journey

The watch travels in its original box inside a rigid transport carton, insured and tracked, with the export paperwork customs needs at both ends. See Shipping & Delivery for rates and delivery times.

From this room to your wrist

What happens to your order after you click buy

Four steps, all of them here at Karpatská 18. Most orders leave us the same or the next working day.

Step 1

It arrives from the distributor

We buy only through the brands’ official European distribution, so every watch is new, sealed and carries the manufacturer’s international warranty.

Step 2

It is checked on this table

Out of the box, against the papers: reference, serial number, bracelet, crystal, function. If anything is not right it does not go out – we wait for another piece.

Step 3

It is set and packed

Time and date set, protective films left where they belong, box and documents in a rigid carton, tracking number issued the moment it is handed over.

Step 4

It travels to you, tracked

DHL Express or UPS, insured door to door. Orders leaving the EU – the United Kingdom included – are priced without EU VAT; see Tax-Free Shopping.

If you are travelling to Bratislava

Visiting in person

Write before you come.
The boutique runs by appointment only. Send a message to [email protected] or ring +421 911 591 937 and we will arrange a time that suits you – useful to know if a city break or a business trip brings you this way.
Tell us what you would like to see.
The cabinets hold a selection of the catalogue, not all of it. Give us the reference in advance and we will have it ready; bringing a specific watch in usually takes one to three working days.
Orders can be collected here.
Choose personal collection at checkout and pay nothing for delivery. We unbox the watch with you and hand over the box, the papers and the invoice in person.

Not travelling to Slovakia? That is the normal case for our British customers – we post worldwide, see Shipping & Delivery.

Where we are

Karpatská 18, 811 05 Bratislava – Old Town

Bratislava stands on the Danube in the middle of Europe, roughly a two-hour flight from London and an hour by road from Vienna. Every parcel we post begins its journey at this address.

Flying in from the UK
Bratislava airport takes direct flights from London and a handful of other British and Irish airports; Vienna airport, an hour away by direct coach, connects to most of them too. From Bratislava airport the boutique is a short taxi ride; from Vienna airport, take the direct coach to Bratislava.
Arriving by train
Trains from Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Kraków arrive at Bratislava main railway station. The Old Town, the castle and the boutique fit comfortably into the same afternoon.
Once you are in the city
Karpatská runs parallel to the station approach road, an easy walk downhill from Hlavná stanica, with parking in the surrounding streets.
Not coming at all
Nearly every British customer buys without ever seeing this room, and that is perfectly normal. The address is published so you know who you are buying from. See Shipping & Delivery for how the watch reaches you.
What we carry

More than 20 brands, bought through official distribution

From everyday Japanese quartz to mechanical watches with real character. Part of the catalogue sits in these cabinets; the rest we order from the distributor, check here and post to you from Bratislava, with the same warranty.

If you are nearby

Collect your order at Karpatská 18 instead of waiting for a courier

Choose personal collection at checkout, pay online or on the spot, and wait for our e-mail confirming the watch is ready. Collection costs nothing and there is no parcel to stay in for.

In the boutique we unpack it with you, set the time and date, size the bracelet to your wrist and hand over the box, the manufacturer’s warranty card and the invoice. Either way, you can return an online order within 30 days of delivery – longer than the statutory 14 days – provided the watch is unworn and complete with its box and papers – the conditions are on the Refunds & Returns page.

Prices in the boutique include Slovak VAT. Travelling home to the United Kingdom or anywhere else outside the EU? Ask us about the export conditions before you pay – carrying a watch out of the EU yourself works differently from an order we post abroad, and both are explained on the Tax-Free Shopping page.

Questions people ask

The Bratislava boutique – frequently asked questions

Is WatchExclusive an actual shop, or only a website?

Both. The website is run from a physical boutique at Karpatská 18, 811 05 Bratislava, Slovakia, trading since 2007. The company behind it, I&M Montres s. r. o., has its registered office at Na križovatkách 18, 821 04 Bratislava; there is more on the About us page.

Do I have to travel to Slovakia to buy a watch?

No. Nearly all our British customers order online and never come – we post worldwide, tracked and insured. The address is published so you can see who you are buying from.

Do I pay EU VAT if the watch is sent to the UK?

No. An order posted from Slovakia to the United Kingdom leaves the EU, so it is priced without EU VAT – see Tax-Free Shopping. Prices exclude the 23% EU VAT. On watches over £135, HMRC charges 20% UK import VAT and any duty due, which the courier collects on delivery; consignments of £135 or less are handled differently, with UK VAT charged at the point of sale. Tax-Free Shopping explains both cases.

Can I visit the showroom if I am in Bratislava?

Yes, by appointment. Write to [email protected] or ring +421 911 591 937 and we will agree a time between Monday and Friday, 10:00 and 17:00 Central European Time.

Can I try on any watch from the online catalogue?

Not on the spot. The cabinets hold a selection of the catalogue, not all of it. Tell us the reference in advance and we will prepare it – ordering a specific model in usually takes one to three working days.

Can I collect an online order at the boutique?

Yes, and collection is free of charge. Choose personal collection at checkout and come once our e-mail confirms the order is ready. Would you rather it was delivered? See Shipping & Delivery.

How do I pay if I buy in the boutique itself?

By card or in cash. Every purchase is invoiced by I&M Montres s. r. o. with Slovak VAT, and the watch comes with the manufacturer’s warranty card and its full documentation.

What are your opening hours, and who will answer me?

Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00 Central European Time – an hour ahead of the UK – by appointment; closed at weekends and on Slovak public holidays. Write in English at any time: we answer every e-mail ourselves, usually within one working day.
