Anchar

The Soviet K-162 submarine, known as the "Anchar," set a world record of 44.7 knots (82.8 km/h) during its trials in the 1970s. Designed as a fast-attack submarine, the Anchar was made of titanium and was known to NATO as the "Papa" class. As a predecessor to the well-known "Alpha" class, the Anchar served the Soviet navy during the Cold War and still holds speed records today.
