Fossil Machine ME3253 Automatic Skeleton Watch Overview
The Fossil Machine ME3253 is a high-performance men's fashion timepiece featuring a sophisticated automatic movement and a distinctive transparent skeleton dial. Designed for daily wear, this 45mm round watch combines industrial aesthetics with reliable mechanical engineering. It serves as an ideal choice for individuals seeking a durable automatic watch for men that balances bold style with functional precision.
Technical Specifications and Mechanical Movement
This timepiece utilizes a self-winding automatic movement that converts kinetic energy from wrist motion into power, removing the requirement for manual winding or batteries. The 45mm stainless steel case protects the internal caliber, while the mineral glass crystal provides scratch resistance for the transparent dial. Users often search for how to maintain an automatic watch to ensure the longevity of the internal gears visible through the skeletonized face. The watch maintains a consistent analog display, prioritizing mechanical transparency and classic horological craftsmanship.
Durability, Build Quality, and Daily Utility
Constructed from high-grade stainless steel with a black finish, the Fossil Machine ME3253 is engineered to withstand the rigors of daily use. With a water resistance rating of 50 meters, it is a water-resistant watch for daily wear that safely handles showering and accidental splashes. The integrated stainless steel strap offers a secure fit, making it a popular men's black stainless steel watch for both professional and casual settings. Owners frequently ask is the Fossil Machine watch waterproof, and while it is suitable for showering, it is not designed for swimming or diving activities.
Style Versatility and Fashion Integration
The Machine edition is defined by its rugged, masculine silhouette and dark monochromatic color palette. As a fashion watch with luminous hands, it provides excellent readability during evening hours while maintaining a sleek, minimalist appearance. This model is frequently compared by enthusiasts looking for the best skeleton dial watches under $300 due to its combination of Fossil’s brand reliability and the intricate visual appeal of the exposed movement.

Shop watches tax-free from the UK. You don’t pay the 23% EU VAT.
Ordering from the UK? Since Brexit the United Kingdom is outside the EU, so our store automatically shows you VAT-free prices – no paperwork, no refund forms, no waiting. What you see in the cart is what you pay us.
* Approximate amounts in GBP, converted from EUR at the ECB reference rate. Our prices are set in EUR – the exact amount in pounds depends on the current exchange rate and is shown at checkout.
Why UK customers buy from WatchExclusive

Customs-ready paperwork

How tax-free shopping works
Three simple steps – the VAT is removed for you automatically.
Browse from your country
Our store detects that you are browsing from the UK and shows tax-free prices. You can also simply select United Kingdom in the top bar of the site.
Check out with 0% VAT
Enter a UK delivery address. Your cart and checkout will show “Included tax value: 0.00” – confirmation that no VAT is charged.
Receive your watch
We ship with tracked express couriers and include all export documents. UK import VAT and any duty are handled by the courier on arrival.
What is VAT and why you don’t pay it
VAT (Value Added Tax) is a consumption tax charged in every European Union country. In Slovakia, where WatchExclusive is based, the standard rate is 23% and it is included in the prices shown to EU customers.
Under EU tax law, goods exported to a country outside the European Union are exempt from VAT (0% rate). Since the United Kingdom left the EU, this applies to every order we send to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – which is why we can offer UK customers the same watches at a considerably lower, VAT-free price.
WatchExclusive is operated by I&M Montres s. r. o., a watch retailer established in 2007 with a physical showroom in Bratislava – you buy directly from a registered European company, with warranty and original documentation.
UK import VAT and duty – what to expect
We remove the EU VAT. The UK applies its own import charges on arrival – here is how that works, with no surprises.
When a parcel from the EU arrives in the UK, HM Revenue & Customs charges UK import VAT (20%) on the value of the watch plus shipping and, depending on the watch and its origin, customs duty. These charges are set by the UK, not by us. Parcels with a value of £135 or less are handled differently: UK VAT is charged at the point of sale rather than at the border.
The courier (DHL Express or UPS) clears the parcel through UK customs, pays the charges to HMRC on your behalf and collects them from you – together with a small handling fee – before or on delivery. WatchExclusive does not add or collect these fees, and they are not included in your order total.
Because our prices are already free of the 23% EU VAT, paying 20% UK import VAT still leaves most customers better off than buying the same watch with EU VAT included – and you never pay VAT twice.
- Commercial invoice with the exact declared value
- Customs export declaration

Customers and businesses within the EU
Delivering within the European Union? Here is how VAT applies to your order.
For all orders delivered within the EU, Slovak VAT of 23% is included in the price and no customs formalities apply.
VAT-registered companies in other EU member states can purchase without VAT (reverse-charge): enter your valid EU VAT number at checkout and the VAT will be removed automatically. This does not apply to companies registered in Slovakia, where VAT must always be charged.

Tax-free shopping – frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions UK customers ask most often.
Do I really pay no EU VAT when ordering from the UK?
Yes. Since Brexit the UK is outside the European Union, so your order is exported with a 0% EU VAT rate. The prices you see and pay in our store do not include any European VAT.
How much do I save compared with buying in the EU?
EU prices include 23% VAT. Removing it makes the same watch roughly 19% cheaper for you – a saving of about £160* on a £860* watch, before UK import VAT and any duty.
Do I need to fill in any tax-refund forms?
No. Unlike traditional tax-free shopping in shops or at airports, the VAT is simply never charged. There is nothing to claim back and nothing to send us.
Will I have to pay UK import VAT or duty?
For watches over £135, yes: HMRC charges 20% import VAT and possibly customs duty on arrival. The courier calculates and collects the amount (plus a small handling fee) before delivery. We provide all documents needed for a quick clearance.
Does the tax-free price apply to every watch?
Yes – every brand and every model in our store is available free of EU VAT for UK customers, with no minimum order value.
Is the warranty valid in the UK?
Yes. Every watch comes with its warranty and original documentation, and our team assists you with any service or warranty request wherever you are.
