This Disclaimer explains how to read the information published on watchexclusive.eu: product data comes from the manufacturers, water-resistance and accuracy figures are laboratory values, and nothing on this page limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
watchexclusive.eu is operated by I&M Montres s. r. o., a Slovak company selling watches since 2007. We check every description we publish, but specifications, prices and stock levels change and mistakes happen. Below is what we stand behind, what we cannot guarantee, and what to do when something does not match.
What this Disclaimer covers – and what it never touches
Four points that decide how everything else on this page should be read.
What we do stand behind
Every watch we sell is new, authentic and supplied through official channels, with the brand box, the manufacturer’s warranty card and full documentation. That is a contractual promise and nothing on this page reduces it.
What we cannot guarantee
That every specification, photograph, price and stock figure is free of error at all times. Manufacturers change references, dials and calibres without notice, and typing mistakes do happen.
Your rights stay intact
Nothing here limits your statutory rights: the two-year liability for defects under EU and Slovak law, the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance selling, or our own 30-day return window.
15 language versions
The site is published in 15 languages. Translations are provided for convenience; if a difference in meaning arises, the English version prevails.
Found something that looks wrong? Three steps
A wrong figure on a product page is not a trap and never works against you. This is what happens next.
- 1. Tell us before you order
Send us the product link at [email protected] or call +421 911 591 937. We verify the figure against the distributor’s data sheet, usually the same working day, and correct the page. - 2. If you have already ordered
Where a price or specification is obviously wrong, we contact you before dispatch. You then decide freely: confirm the order at the corrected price, or cancel it and get a full refund. We never dispatch a watch that does not match what you agreed to. - 3. If the watch has already arrived
Then it is no longer a matter for this page. A watch that does not match its description is a defect, and you use the ordinary procedure on our Refunds & Returns page – 30-day return window, plus two years of statutory liability for defects.
Top 3 specifications customers misread most often
These three are behind most of the questions we receive after delivery. Reading them correctly saves a return.
Water resistance in metres
What we guarantee: The rating printed on the case is the one certified by the manufacturer, and we publish it exactly as supplied. Every watch is tested and sealed at the factory.
What you should check: “50 m” is not a swimming depth. It is a static laboratory pressure on a new watch, not a promise about a dive, a hot shower or a jump into a pool. See the table below before you take a watch into water.
Accuracy of the movement
What we guarantee: The calibre stated on the product page and its tolerance as published by the brand. A watch that leaves us has been running and checked.
What you should check: A mechanical watch is not a quartz watch. A deviation of a few tens of seconds a day can be entirely within the manufacturer’s tolerance, and a watch within tolerance is not defective.
Photographs, colours and dimensions
What we guarantee: Our own studio photographs of the actual model, plus the official press images from the brand, and the dimensions from the manufacturer’s data sheet.
What you should check: Colour depends on your screen, its calibration and the lighting. Case dimensions usually exclude the crown, and strap lengths are nominal. If the fit is critical, ask us before ordering.
Water resistance: what the marking on your watch really allows
Ratings follow ISO 22810 and are measured as static pressure in a laboratory on a new, sealed watch. This is the practical reading of each level.
| Marking | Suitable for | Not suitable for |
|---|---|---|
| 3 ATM / 30 m | Everyday wear, rain, splashes, washing your hands | Swimming, showering, water sports, sauna |
| 5 ATM / 50 m | The above, plus short swimming in a pool | Diving, jumping into water, water sports, hot showers |
| 10 ATM / 100 m | Swimming, snorkelling, water sports | Scuba diving with equipment, high-speed water sports |
| 20 ATM / 200 m | Recreational scuba diving | Saturation diving; helium-rich mixed-gas diving |
| 30 ATM / 300 m and above | Diving to the depth stated by the brand | Anything the brand’s own manual excludes |
Only a watch marked DIVER’S under ISO 6425 is certified for diving. Resistance falls over time: gaskets age, temperature changes and impacts affect the seal, and operating the crown or pushers under water breaks it instantly. Manufacturers recommend a pressure test every one to two years. Water damage caused by use beyond the rating, or by an unsealed crown, is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty.
Accuracy: when a deviation is normal and when it is a defect
Typical manufacturer tolerances. The binding figure is always the one in the brand’s specification for the specific calibre, shown on the product page.
| Movement type | Typical tolerance | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Quartz | ±15 to ±20 seconds / month | Roughly a quarter of a minute a month; temperature affects it more than wear |
| Mechanical, automatic | −20 to +40 seconds / day | Depends on the calibre, the position the watch rests in overnight and how much it is worn |
| COSC chronometer | −4 to +6 seconds / day | Individually certified; the certificate is supplied with the watch |
| Solar and radio-controlled | Quartz tolerance, or synchronised | Radio-controlled models correct themselves; without a signal they run as ordinary quartz |
A watch running within its published tolerance is working as designed and is not a defect. A new mechanical watch also needs a settling period of a few weeks. If your watch runs outside the stated tolerance, that is a warranty matter – write to [email protected] and we arrange regulation or service.
Brand names, trademarks and our role
Seiko, Citizen, Tissot, Casio, Vostok Europe, U-BOAT and every other brand named on this website are registered trademarks of their respective owners. We use those names solely to identify the goods we offer for sale – a use expressly permitted by Article 14(1)(c) of Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 on the European Union trade mark.
WatchExclusive is a retailer, not a manufacturer. We do not design, produce or repair the watches ourselves, and we do not speak on behalf of any brand. Manufacturer descriptions, marketing claims and technical data sheets are reproduced as supplied to us; where a brand changes a specification, its own current documentation prevails over anything published here.
Warranty repairs are carried out by the brand’s authorised service network. We arrange and track the claim for you – see our Refunds & Returns page – but the technical assessment is made by the manufacturer’s service centre, not by us.
Photographs, texts and copyright
Product photographs taken in our Bratislava showroom, our category texts, guides and blog articles are the property of I&M Montres s. r. o. and are protected by copyright. You may quote a short passage with a link back to the source; systematic copying, republication or use for training commercial models requires our written permission.
Official press images, brand logos and manufacturer texts remain the property of the respective brands and are used with the permission of their distributors, for the sole purpose of presenting goods offered for sale.
If you believe any material on this site infringes your rights, write to [email protected] with the specific URL and proof of your entitlement. We review every notice and remove infringing content promptly.
Blog articles, guides and customer comments
Articles and guides in our watch blog are general information written by our team, not individual advice and not a recommendation to buy a particular watch. Servicing instructions are described in general terms; opening a case, changing a battery or a gasket yourself may void the manufacturer’s warranty, and we accept no responsibility for damage caused by work done outside an authorised service centre.
Comments under articles express the views of their authors, not of WatchExclusive. We moderate them and we remove content that is unlawful, defamatory or misleading. If you find such a comment, report it to [email protected] and we will act without undue delay, in line with our obligations under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act).
Customer reviews shown on the site are collected through Trustpilot. We do not edit them and we do not filter out negative ones.
Links to other websites
This site links to manufacturers, authorised service centres, carriers and public authorities. Those websites are operated by other organisations. We do not control their content, their availability or how they handle your personal data, and we accept no responsibility for them.
Once you follow an external link, this Disclaimer and our Privacy Policy no longer apply. Please read the terms of the site you land on. A link is never an endorsement of the products, services or opinions found there.
No professional advice – including no investment advice
The content of this website is general information about watches, not professional advice. We are not lawyers, tax advisers, accountants or watchmakers acting in an advisory capacity. For tax, customs or legal questions, consult a qualified adviser in your own country before you rely on anything published here.
A watch is a consumer product, not a financial instrument. We do not advise on resale value, future price movements or watches as an investment, and we make no forecast of any kind. Words such as “limited edition”, “collectable” or “discontinued” describe the product as the manufacturer presents it; they are not a statement about future value. Secondary-market prices can fall as well as rise.
Nothing on this site is a valuation or an authentication service for watches bought elsewhere.
Limits of our liability – and the limits of those limits
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website, from a temporary interruption of the service, or from information published on it – for example lost profit, lost data, or costs incurred in reliance on an incorrect specification. We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption or free of technical faults, and we reserve the right to add to, change or remove content at any time.
These limits do not apply, and cannot apply, to: damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence; death or personal injury; liability for damage caused by a defective product; our liability for the conformity of the goods you bought from us; or any mandatory consumer right you enjoy under the law of your country of residence.
In plain terms: this page protects us against being held responsible for a typing error in a data sheet or for a link that stopped working. It does not, and is not intended to, take away a single right you have as a buyer. Our contractual obligations are set out in the Terms & Conditions.
Prices, availability and customs charges
Prices are shown in the currency selected on the site and include Slovak VAT for deliveries within the EU. Customers outside the EU are charged 0 % EU VAT automatically at checkout – see Tax-Free Shopping.
Import duty, local sales tax and customs clearance fees in the destination country are not included in our price and are not paid by us. They are set by your own customs authority and charged to you on arrival. We provide the export documents; the amount payable is beyond our control and cannot be estimated by us in advance.
Stock figures are updated automatically, but a watch may sell in the showroom minutes before your order arrives. If an item is unavailable, we tell you promptly and refund in full or agree a delivery date with you. Delivery times on the Shipping & Delivery page are carrier estimates, not guaranteed dates; customs inspections and weather are outside our control.
Language versions of this page
This Disclaimer is published in 15 languages so that every customer can read it in their own. The translations are prepared carefully, but a legal text can shift in nuance when translated. Where a difference in meaning arises, the English version prevails.
This does not affect your right to rely on the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, nor your right to communicate with us in the language of the version you read. Write to us in any of our 15 languages and we will answer.
Disclaimer – frequently asked questions
Direct answers to what customers ask about this page.
Does this Disclaimer limit my right to return a watch?
No. Your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU distance-selling rules, our own 30-day return window and the two-year statutory liability for defects apply in full, whatever this page says. See our Refunds & Returns page.
My new automatic watch runs +15 seconds a day. Is it faulty?
Almost certainly not. Mechanical calibres are typically specified at −20 to +40 seconds a day, so +15 is comfortably inside tolerance. Give a new watch a few weeks to settle and wear it daily. If it runs outside the tolerance stated for its calibre, contact us and we arrange regulation under warranty.
My watch says 5 ATM. Can I wear it in the shower?
No. 5 ATM covers short swimming in a pool, not showering: hot water and steam expand the gaskets and soap breaks down the seal. As a rule, do not take a watch into a hot shower or a sauna unless the brand explicitly allows it.
The watch I received is a slightly different shade than the photograph.
Colour reproduction depends on your screen and its calibration, and dial finishes such as sunburst change appearance with the light. If the difference is more than that, it is a description mismatch and you can return the watch under the ordinary return procedure.
Are you an authorised dealer for the brands you sell?
We source through official distribution channels, so every watch is new, authentic and comes with a valid manufacturer’s warranty card honoured by authorised service centres. We are a retailer, not a representative of the brands, and we do not speak on their behalf.
Which language version of this page is binding?
The English version. The other 14 translations are provided for convenience and do not change the mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your own country.
Not sure about a specification?
Ask before you order – a two-minute question saves a return. We check the figure against the distributor’s data sheet and answer with a straight yes or no.
